Bell of Mindfulness

The bell of mindfulness is calling us back to our true homes.

“With body, speech and mind in perfect oneness
I send my heart along with the sound of the bell.
May all who hear it awaken from forgetfulness
And transcend all anxiety and sorrow.”

–Monks and Nuns of Plum Village and Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh

Just listening to the sound of the bell with your full attention is all that is required of this meditation practice.

What comes up for you when you hear the sound of the bell?

For me, it is a constant reminder to stop what I am doing and pay attention to what is in the present moment.

Your telephone can be used as a bell of mindfulness.

Let it ring at least twice before answering it and take a moment to breathe.

Do you like the sound of the bell? Do you know anyone who could benefit from listening to this over and over again? Please share with your friends.
