Chanting Om Namah Shivaya

The Chanting Om Namah Shivaya was one of the first chants I learned. It is a traditional yogic mantra.

The translation is basically adoration or homage to lord Shiva, the destroyer god of Hinduism.

I learned it from Swami Rama and Dr. Arya (Swami Veda Bharati) many years ago.

Swami Rama also taught me a private mantra which I used for many years.

The purpose of chanting Om Namah Shivaya is to bring your mind to the total experience of the mantra.

Done properly, you leave all your worries behind.

If you or someone you know would benefit from chanting “Om Namah Shivaya,” please share this with them.
