Compassion Helps Resolve Conflicts – Dalai Lama

The Dalai Lama spoke to a large crowd at Staford University on October 14, 2010. He said that compassion helps resolve conflicts.

He spoke about the necessity of mutual respect when resolving difficulties.

Compassion is one of the cornerstones of Tibetan Buddhism, the other being wisdom.

Both of these arise of the understanding that everyone wants happiness and to avoid suffering.

When we recognize this, we can begin a constructive dialog to resolve problems.

To quote the Dalai Lama:

“If you want others to be happy, practice compassion. If you want to be happy, practice compassion.”

The practice of compassion helps us make a better world.

Please share this with someone who needs compassion right now!
