Jon Kabat-Zinn: Falling Awake

Jon Kabat-Zinn is one of the most renowned teachers of mindfulness in the world.

His research and service to the University of Massachusetts Medical Center and the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program have spread all over the world. MBSR has even been adopted to other clinical environments as Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, Dialectic Behavior Therapy, and Acceptance Commitment Therapy.

He spoke to physicians at the University of California at San Diego about falling awake, and there were other people in audience.

He states somewhere in the middle of the talk that mindfulness is really about coming to our senses!

It is paying attention to our senses in the present moment without judgement.

What impressed me most about this video was Jon Kabat-Zinn’s humility.

How would you LIKE to come to your senses?

This CD and book by Jon Kabat-Zinn are highly recommended. The book teaches you about the MBSR process and is a very good read.
