Mediation Is Not Difficult

Meditation is not difficult.

Even a child can do it.

Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh teaches “pebble meditation” to the children who visit him in Plum Village. The is one of the wonderful things I love about Thay, as he is called by his followers. He includes the children in his dharma talks and allows them to ask questions on Q & A days at retreats. The monks and nuns of Plum Village also take great pleasure in taking care of the children. You might even want to try A Handful of Quiet: Happiness in Four Pebbles, his handbook for children.

Take a look at how these lovely children sit in meditation.

If you know any children who would benefit from pebble meditation, share this post with them.
