Spirit - Time
Zeitgeist Movie
Zeitgeist is a German word meaning "spirit-time". Two films have been produced to express the spirit of our time. The first one, "Zeitgeist, the Movie" expresses social concepts that most of us are not aware of. The second one, "Zeitgeist Addendum", presents a new understand of how we can use technology to be aligned with nature and a resource based society. Interesting enough, two insights that humans can have are offered in the latter: the "emergent and symbiotic aspects of natural law." In the ensuing discussion, one can easily see that the first insight is "impermanence" and the second one "interdependence," or, as Thich Nhat Hanh would say, "inter-being."

Future by Design
A large part of Zeitgeist Addendum, is devoted to an interview with Jacques Fresco, a futurist and industrial designer. His concept of a resourse based society is examined in detail. There is also a video about his work which you can download here:

What I find interesting about this work is that it calls for society to move towards the middle way, where life is not too austere but also not too ostentatious! It represents a move in the direction of equanimity, wisdom and compassion for all living beings.
John Perkins and the Economic Hit Men
Another segment of Zeitgeist Addemdum is about the Economic Hit Men in general and John Perkins in particular. John Perkins is the author of Confessions of an Economic Hit Man, which reveals the three step process of infiltrating foreign govenments to take control of their economies, The Secret History of the American Empire: The Truth About Economic Hit Men, Jackals, and How to Change the World, and With Justice for All: A Strategy for Community Development.
