Guided Meditation for Loving Kindness

This guided meditation for loving kindness was created by Michael Sealey and is quite good for learning how to give and receive loving kindness, compassion, happiness, abundance and healing and eliminating stress and anxiety.

Michael begins with a soothing body scan that takes about 7 minutes.

Then he asks us to bring into mind an image of our ideal self, whether it is a thought or representation of who you really are – a representation of your authentic self.

Lissa Rankin calls the Your Inner Pilot Light – that is, who you are at your very best.

He writes,

This guided meditation uses techniques of progressive relaxation and imagined visualization to help you positively enhance your own happiness and inner healing energy through the practice of universal loving kindness

This session can also be useful for alleviating symptoms of anxiety and depression.

By practicing these techniques of mindful loving kindness you will find you are more able to naturally increase your own compassion, tolerance, understanding and acceptance for both yourself, and for others.

This meditation experience may be repeated as often as you choose to reinforce your positive intentions.

By your own inner direction may you continue to find your greatest waking potential.

This session is suitable and recommended for repeated listening, and regular listening will help compound positive suggestions and / or your own positive results.

The end of this session will provide the suggestions to return to a fully conscious, awake and alert, positive mind state.

Loving kindness and compassion are two of the four immeasurable minds taught by the Buddha, the others being sympathetic joy and equanimity.

In my experience these qualities of loving kindness, compassion, sympathetic joy and equanimity have been indispensable for my happiness, healing, and my living a productive life.
