Insight Meditation With Tara Brach

This video is an excellent introduction to  insight meditation with Tara Brach.

Tara Brach is a well-known vipassana meditation teacher.

Vipassana meditation is mindfulness meditation that promotes insight.

The other kind of mindfulness meditation is samatha meditation.

Mindfulness meditation begins with samatha (calming) to obtain a state of peace and tranquility.

This is usually accomplished by practicing mindfulness of breathing.

Once your mind is steady as a result of samatha, you can begin to look deeper and achieve some insight.

My experience has mostly focused on mindfulness of breathing.

I seem to fall into insights most of the time now.

Do you know anyone who could benefit from vipassana meditation? Please share this with them.
