Stop Complaining – Start Sitting!

Pema Chodron is a beloved teacher of Tibetan Buddhism. She is the abbess of Gampo Abbey in Nova Scotia.

Her many trips to the United States and her many published books are a gift to all of us complainers!

In this video, she tells a famous story about George Gurdjieff.

Gurdjieff was a well-know teacher in the 1920’s.

His students were always complaining about the tasks he set upon them in order to help them awaken.

Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh says that we have all the conditions necessary to be happy instead of complaining.

Please answer this question in the comments below: what do you have to complain about?

Note: This video first appeared on Best Meditation Videos more than two years ago. Pema is worth repeating! Don’t you think so?

I listen to both of these books on tape (which I now have transferred to my iPhone) over and over again. They are truly inspirational.
