Stress Reduction with Mindfulness

Jon Kabat-Zinn founded Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) at the University of Massachusetts more than 30 years ago. Thousands of people have been through the program and the results are very positive.

The program consists of yoga exercises and stress reduction with mindfulness. There is no mention of Buddhism.

Initially, the program was directed towards people in the hospital, but now the practices are taught everywhere.

This video is from his talk at Google on October 11, 2007 – the day Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh turned 81.

Tomorrow, Jon Kabat-Zinn will celebrate his 69th continuation day. Happy Continuation, Jon!

Here is a CD and a Book You Can Still Enjoy
Mindfulness Meditation for Pain Relief: Guided Practices for Reclaiming Your Body and Your Life Full Catastrophe Living: Using the Wisdom of Your Body and Mind to Face Stress, Pain, and Illness

This CD and book by Jon Kabat-Zinn are highly recommended. The book teaches you about the MBSR process and is a very good read.
