Dear Venerables, Monastic Brothers and Sisters, and Beloved Sangha,

It is with deep joy and wholehearted support that I write this letter of recommendation for our dear Dharma friend, Jerome, known in the Plum Village tradition as True Precious Light and Healing of the Heart.

Jerome has been a devoted practitioner of Thay’s teachings for many decades, embodying mindfulness, compassion, and service in every aspect of his life. His presence in our sangha has been a source of inspiration, wisdom, and warmth. He founded the Mountain Sangha, mentored aspirants into the Order of Interbeing, and has consistently offered healing and guidance to those navigating illness and suffering.

One of Jerome’s most impactful contributions to the Plum Village community was introducing Dr. Quoc Vo to Thay through Brother Phap Linh. Dr. Vo’s healing treatments were instrumental in Thay’s recovery in San Francisco, and he continues to care for monastics in the US, France, and Vietnam. This act of connection and compassion reflects Jerome’s deep commitment to the well-being of our spiritual family.

Jerome lives the Dharma with sincerity and joy. His daily practice, his teaching, and his service to others all reflect the spirit of “Life is practice, practice is life.” I have no doubt that he will continue to be a shining light in our tradition and a steady presence for future generations of practitioners.
