These 7 ways to be more grateful in life were written by Luminita Saviac – The Purpose Ferry. I find them to be very useful in light of my daily practice of gratitude.
If you are not practicing gratitude on a daily basis, maybe you should begin. It is one of the fastest ways to living a happier life that I know, especially from my personal experience.
Remember, “To desire what you don’t have is to waste what you do have!” And, we always have everything we need to be happy in the present moment.
Teach yourself to be more grateful on a daily basis, to recognize and remember how appreciation brings joy to life. Every day, there are little ways to fit and find moments of appreciation into the daily grind. And here are 7 of these ways you can be more grateful in your daily life.
1. Do Something Nice for a Stranger
2. Let Go of One Unnecessary Belonging
3. Be Conscious of Your Words
4. Write the Good, the Bad and the Awkward Down
5. Go Rogue and Have a Mini Adventure
6. Honor Something Beautiful About Yourself.
7. Spend Time With Authentic People Who Love You
With all my love,
Regarding number 1, “Do Something Nice for a Stranger,” a simple act o kindness is to be mindful when you are driving in your car and allow other drivers the common courtesy of getting on the street or freeway before you. When I do this, it feels good and it gives me an opportunity to serve others.
Number 4 would give me the most trouble because I don’t keep a journal or write things down. What I do at night before I go to sleep and in the morning before I start my day is to replay my day going backwards in time and noticing the people, places, events, things and activities that I am grateful for. This is my gratitude practice.
About number 7, Luminita writes, “Spending time with loved ones is a wonderful way to feel like you belong. Family and friends provide a sense of interconnectedness. ” This is the insight of interbeing, which is the foundation of wisdom and compassion.
Which one of these did you practice today? Which one of these gives you the most joy? Which one of these are the hardest for you to accomplish?
