Some people will catch on to the benefits of mediation pretty much right away. It will take a bit more convincing for other people. Regardless of where you stand, it can be very helpful to see a list of the benefits in the form of a list.
Benefits of Meditation:
- Reduces stress by taking time for yourself — how often do you take some time just for yourself? If you’re like many people out there, then you don’t! The simple act of meditation, and taking time away for YOU, will do great things to reduce your stress level.
- Reduces stress by the act of meditating — Meditation inherently reduces stress. It helps you balance your life and your feelings. It helps you become more in tune with yourself and the world around you. The stress-relief benefits cannot be stressed enough!
- Builds self confidence — You’ll find that your self-confidence improves. You will learn so much about yourself that you will become more self-assured all the way around. You’re so in tune with your life that you can’t help but be self-confident!
- Improves mood — There are many different reasons why your mood will improve overall with consistent meditation. One of the main reasons, however, is because doing so will increase your serotonin levels. As you might be aware, having low serotonin levels can contribute to problems like depression and insomnia.
- Regulates blood pressure — You’ll be less stressed and more balanced. Both of which can lead to more regular, lower, blood pressure.
- Improves general sense of well-being — you’ll be very relaxed and more sure of what you want to do in your life and for your life. Your overall sense of well-being will improve!
- Can help you lose weight — Many people over-eat because they are stressed out and just don’t know what they want out of life. By meditating, you’ll be eliminating these problems safely. That will help you to avoid overeating.
- Reduce heart disease — problems like stress and high blood pressure can lead to heart disease. By nipping these problems in the bud, you can reduce your chances of heart disease.
- Improved family relationships — It’s unfortunate, but many people have strained relationships with loved ones and don’t know how to fix things. Oftentimes, these problems are due to stress and imbalance. You don’t know how to react to each other, even though you love each other. By meditating, you’ll be decreasing your levels of stress. You’ll usually find that your family relationships are much improved as a result.
Clearly, there are a great many benefits that come along with meditation. You might wonder why more people don’t do it — why it’s not prescribed by more doctors. In the next lesson, we’ll go over more about those reasons so you can understand them.
The most important thing is that you understand the benefits and that you follow through with the instruction you’re receiving here. Nothing is more important than living a happy and fulfilling life. You can achieve that through the power of meditating just 9 minutes per day.
