These words of wisdom from Jack Kronfield teach us to be willing to love and to stay present.
These are the two freedoms that we have, regardless of our situation.
If we are willing to let love in our hearts, we can connect with the beauty of life around us and connect with other people.
We can always take a moment to reflect on the nature of our interbeing – our interconnectedness – with all of life on earth.
We can relate ot our common living experience, not only with humans, but with animals, plants, the solar system, the Milky Way galaxy, and the whole universe.
We can be in our worst funk and shower ourselves with a little self-compassion to become present with our thoughts, feelings and emotions.

The Two Freedoms |
|
Whatever your difficulties—a devastated heart, financial loss, feeling assaulted by the conflicts around you, or a seemingly hopeless illness—you can always remember that you are free in every moment to set the compass of your heart to your highest intentions. In fact, the two things that you are always free to do—despite your circumstances—are to be present and to be willing to love. |
Remember that Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh tells us that we have everything we need to be happy in the present moment.
There is no other time but this time.
There is no other place that this place.
Be here. Be now. Be here now. 🙂
