Olga Klimecki was another presenter at the conference for Empathy and Compassion in Society in London in the fall of 2012. She works at the Max Planck Institute with Tania Singer on the neuroscience of empathy and compassion.
She spoke about the plasticity of the social brain. She does research to see if we can change how we respond to certain situations.
She wonders whether we can train empathy and compassion and does this training effect social behavior.
Her findings indicate that compassion training can positively effect feelings and social motivation.
I am truly grateful to Olga for sending me the link to the conference videos. It was only by accident that I received her email.
