Teaching on Love and Happiness

“Love liberates. It doesn’t just hold—that’s ego. Love liberates. It doesn’t bind. Love says, ‘I love you. I love you if you’re in China. I love you if you’re across town. I love you if you’re in Harlem. I love you. I would like to be near you. I’d like to have your arms around me. I’d like to hear your voice in my ear. But that’s not possible now, so I love you. Go.’”~ Dr. Maya Angelou

Today is the final day of our challenge. If you’re reading this, congratulations for sticking around until the end!

Over 43,820 beautiful souls have participated in this experiment from more than 65 countries, and it has been amazing!

Thank you so much for participating.

REMINDER: Today’s final happiness theme is on how to let go of people in your life who no longer need or want to be in your life.

You let go of someone not because you no longer care, not because you no longer need and want them in your life, but because you understand that they will be happier someplace else. You will be happier someplace else.

This is what true love is all about.

Real love transcends the material plane and no matter if your bodies are apart, your souls will forever be connected.

EXERCISE: Think of that one relationship you have been trying to cling on to for so long. That one person you have been trying to prevent from leaving. And feel the pain that this clinging has brought upon you.

Stay in that space and much as needed, and whenever you feel ready, close your eyes, take three deep cleansing breaths, and with your hand over your heart imagine saying these words to them:

“I now give you permission to leave.

To go where your heart needs you to go, and to live the life you’re meant to live. (Keep in mind that it’s the relationship that you are letting go of but not the love you have for the other person.)

I would like for you to be near me. But that’s not possible now, so I love you. Go.

I release you and I set you free.

I set myself free…”

As soon as you say these words, imagine the invisible link that kept both of you in an unhealthy attachment for so long being permanently removed, and all the feelings of sadness, hurt and helplessness melt away.

You are free… 🙂

Congratulations!

You have completed the exercise for the day, and the 21-Day Happiness Challenge 🙂
