If you understood my last post, you may remember that there are many ways we cause ourselves to suffer. What we don’t realize is that often the suffering is momentary and we get lost in the story instead of recognizing the impermanent nature of our sensations, feelings and thoughts. Once we understand this, we can begin to get a handle on our suffering and learn to be with it because we know it will change. Sometimes it takes longer for things to change than we like. However, if we learn to live with this idea of impermanence, we can learn to be present for our experience.
We can make peace with the fact that things are unpredictable, uncontrollable and changing and learn to meet experience with joy and compassion. This is what practice if for.
