Pema Chodron teaches us how to live with uncertainty. In these words of wisdom from Tricycle Magazine, Pema Chodron tells us, “Our discomfort arises from all of our effort to put ground under our feet, to realize our dream of constant okayness.”
Pema is one of the most popular teachers in the Wsst and certainly a wonderful example of the Shambhala Tibetan tradition started by Chögyam Trungpa Rimpoche.
What everyone likes about her teachings is that she is so real and tells it like it is. She holds nothing back from her life and shares her fascinating stories.

Constant Okayness
– Pema Chödrön, “The Fundamental Ambiguity of Being Human” [Read More…] |
I have been a fan of Pema’s for many years. I have listened to many of her books on tape and read all of her contributions to Tricycle, Shambhala Sun, and Buddhadharma magazines since about 2001. These include Awakening Compassion, Bodhisattva Mind, Comfortable with Uncertainty, Don’t Bite the Hook, From Fear to Fearlessness, Getting Unstuck, Good Medicine, Pure Meditation, The Places that Scare You, and When Things Fall Apart. Some of these are purely audiobooks and they are recordings of live retreats that she led.
Learning from Pema Chodron is like listening to the grandmother that you love or loved. She talks to us, not at us.
So, what are you uncertain about? How do you live with uncertainty? Please share.

I listen to both of these books on tape (which I now have transferred to my iPhone) over and over again. They are truly inspirational.
